ContractorTechReview ("we", "us") is operated by Kevin Given. This page explains what data this website collects and how it's used. We believe in collecting as little data as possible, and we explain everything in plain language.
What we collect
Server access logs. Like every website, our hosting provider (Netlify) records standard HTTP access logs — IP address, browser type, the page you visited, and the referring page. These logs are used to diagnose performance issues and are retained for up to 30 days.
Anonymous analytics. We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which articles are useful to readers. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors. We do not use Google Analytics with personally identifiable tracking.
Cookies. This site does not set first-party tracking cookies. Some third-party affiliate networks (e.g., CJ Affiliate, Impact, PartnerStack) may set cookies when you click an affiliate link to a vendor's site. Those cookies are governed by the affiliate network's privacy policy, not ours.
What we do not collect
- We do not have a newsletter or email list. We do not collect email addresses on this site.
- We do not have user accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no profile to create.
- We do not sell or share data. There is no data to sell.
Affiliate tracking
When you click an affiliate link on this site and arrive at a software vendor's website, the vendor and the affiliate network may track your activity on the vendor's site for the purpose of attributing a referral to us. The tracking is governed by the vendor's and network's privacy policies. The information shared with us in those cases is typically limited to: that a referral occurred, the date and time, the page on our site that referred them, and whether a signup completed. We do not receive personal information about you from these networks.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection laws (GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA in California). Because we collect so little data, most of these rights are easy to honor — there's typically nothing for us to delete or export. If you'd like to confirm what we have on you, you can reach out via the Triangle Fencing Co. contact form.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be noted.
